A capella is specifically group or solo singing without instrumental accompaniment, or a piece intended to be performed in this way. Unlike choirs, we often have a beatboxer to build up our sound. Some prominent a cappella Groups are Pentatonix, Street Corner Symphony, SENZA, HKU's MOSAIC etc...

The Mockingbird is a London-based a cappella group. It was founded in 2009 by a group of University College London (UCL) students. We have actively performed in various shows across London, Manchester, Cambridge and Hong Kong. Currently, we have members from many different universities across the UK such as Imperial College London (IC), King’s College London (KCL), London School of Economics (LSE), University College London (UCL), etc…

WHAT GENRES OF MUSIC DO YOU SING?
Anything. Almost all of our pieces are arranged by our members. We mainly sing in English, Cantonese, Mandarin. However, we have recently picked up Japanese and Korean as well!
HOW CAN I WATCH YOUR PERFORMANCE?
The Mockingbird has been performing in various shows such as the UNICEF Charity Concert, ICCS Variety Show, ICPASS Charity Concert, LSE Hope of the Night, UCL Variety Show, CSSA Chinese New Year Gala, etc…
The highlight of the year is, however, our own annual concert around March. If you missed it, you can find some of the highlights on our YouTube channel.
